..::snowy owl, limited edition linocut reduction print::..

'Snowy Owl' is a limited edition linocut reduction of my interpretation of a snowy owl feather. the light beigey base was printed from the block that also printed this. (those gorgeous feather prints are available for purchase, here.) the dark brown spots were created by carving away the original feather, leaving merely flecks of linoleum which simulate lines on a true feather (you can click on the last photo for a close up, if you'd like). since the original feather has been carved away, the block is no longer printable, which means, these prints are the only reminders of what once was. my dears, once they're gone, they're gone for good!!

a limited edition of 14 (not 15 as i originally thought).

well, well, aren't you a sight for sore eyes! it's been a busy few months here around the bird's nest. and before i profess my return to blogging on a regular basis (that really didn't go over to well last time), i just want to say what a great place this has been for sharing & rambling. and, if you don't mind, i'd like to continue doing so... xo
