perched in our neighbors tree. at first, it was hard to tell which direction he was facing.

..::snowy owl, limited edition linocut reduction print::..

'Snowy Owl' is a limited edition linocut reduction of my interpretation of a snowy owl feather. the light beigey base was printed from the block that also printed this. (those gorgeous feather prints are available for purchase, here.) the dark brown spots were created by carving away the original feather, leaving merely flecks of linoleum which simulate lines on a true feather (you can click on the last photo for a close up, if you'd like). since the original feather has been carved away, the block is no longer printable, which means, these prints are the only reminders of what once was. my dears, once they're gone, they're gone for good!!

a limited edition of 14 (not 15 as i originally thought).

here is a glimpse at my new reduction print. 'snowy owl' is my first feather linocut reduction. because the original block has been reduced, these will never be produced again. super limited edition of 15.
